This new high school is is on a site adjoining the Wright Brothers Memorial. The design for this project is site-specific with strong consideration for the corrosion, scouring and humidity experienced in the Outer Banks region.

The design places the gymnasium, auditorium, dining area and administrative offices around a central commons area, enabling the isolation of these areas for after-hours use. Academic spaces are organized by department, with the exception of ninth grade classes, which are grouped into a separate house.
